The Gospel of Jesus Christ
Creation
God created the world.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1
We were created by God, in His image to be His children and members of His family for all eternity to whom He could express His love and joy.
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. “ Genesis 1:27
In the beginning, mankind was living in harmonious relationship with God.
“Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” Genesis 1:31
Deception
Satan deceived mankind into rejecting God’s love and will, thus sinning against Him. In doing this Satan tempted Adam and Eve to doubt, disbelieve, distrust and rebel against God.
“The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” Genesis 3:13
Mankind fell into disbelief and chose to reject God as their leader and instead follow his own will that is contrary to the will of God.
In doing this mankind turned away from God and His will.
God is holy, perfect, completely righteous and just.
Mankind, acting out of his of his own free will, chose to sin and this separated them from a holy perfect God.
Substitution
We deserved to be punished as a penalty for the sins we have committed.
God had mercy upon mankind and showed grace to us when we did not deserve it. He allowed His Son, Jesus, to take the punishment upon Himself that we deserved to receive ourselves. Jesus, the Son of God , took our place and allowed Himself to even be killed in our place to pay the spiritual debt we owed to God.
God, the Father, sent His Son Jesus to take our place and receive the punishment upon Himself that was rightly due to us.
“4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law,that we might receive the adoption of sons.” Galatians 4:4
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Restoration
When we decide to receive the forgiveness of our sins that our Heavenly Father provided through the life, death and resurrection of His Son Jesus.
When we make the choice to follow Jesus as Savior and Lord, submitting our Will to His,
We then become, once again, His children, restored back as new children, reborn by His Spirit.
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:” John 1:12
In Christ Jesus we are completely restored, recreated and transformed into the image of Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit as we believe and follow the Bible, God’s holy word.
“ That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Ephesians 4:22-24
When we choose to follow God, He opens up blessings that He has already provided for us in His Son Jesus and transforms us into Christ-like creatures as we meditate upon His word, the Bible, by the power of God’s Holy Spirit.
How to know God…
