18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in FIRE: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount QUAKED GREATLY.
19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up. Exodus 19:18-20
God descended on Mount Sinai in the form of FIRE…
In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. Exodus 19:1
When? In the third month…
Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on EAGLE’S WINGS and brought you unto myself. Exodus 19:4
God bore His people spiritually on EAGLE’S WINGS, He carried them through to safety and blessing supernaturally.
Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that WAIT upon the LORD shall RENEW their strength; they shall mount up with WINGS as EAGLES they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:28-31
God gives POWER and strength to those who choose to follow Him
WAIT on the Lord and He will renew your STRENGTH
God will cause you to be able to mount up on EAGLE’S WINGS supernaturally, to be given power and strength
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will POUR OUT Of MY SPIRIT upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I POUR OUT MY SPIRIT. Joel 2:28,29
God promised to pour out His Spirit…
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but WAIT for the PROMISE of the FATHER, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY GHOST not many days hence.
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. Acts 1:4-9
Jesus told the disciples to not leave Jerusalem, but to WAIT for the PROMISE of the FATHER
Jesus told His disciples that they would be BAPTIZED with the HOLY GHOST and with FIRE
Jesus told His disciples that they would receive POWER after the HOLY GHOST came upon them and that they be His WITNESSES to all the world.
Jesus’ disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit…

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4
Peter explains the outpouring of the Holy Spirit
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:16-21
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel Acts 4:8
Peter was filled with the Holy Ghost and by this empowerment he preached…
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31
The place was shaken and disciples preached with boldness after being filled with the Holy ghost…
And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. Acts 9:17
Ananias put his hands on Saul and declared he was sent by God to restore his sight and that he be would be filled with the Holy Ghost…
9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. Acts 13:10,11
Saul was filled with the Holy Ghost when he declared blindness on a man for a season
Acts 13:52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
Acts 11:23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
Acts 11:24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
Be filled with the Spirit…
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Ephesians 5:18-21
Day of Pentecost Baptism of the Holy Spirit
The original Day of Pentecost recorded in the Old Testament was a foreshadowing of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit recorded in the book of Acts.
